Dr Elora Baishnab

University of Manchester

Elora Baishnab (she/her) (Ee-law-ra Bay-sh-nab) is Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Deputy Lead on the MBChB Programme at the University of Manchester. She is also a working GP and Joint Head of Undergraduate GP Teaching. She leads on delivery of Active Bystander training for Year 3 students and has been working with the wider programme on anti-sexism teaching. She has led students across years to decolonise the curriculum starting with online learning materials. Elora has been a member of DIMAH for many years and support the outgoing chair Margot Turner as DIMAH Secretary. Outside of her Academic Role she is a GP in active clinical practice, and has various roles working for the RCGP, GMC and as an appraiser. She is a proud Bangladeshi and has three small children that have very much shaped her lived experience and contributed to her commitment to EDI spaces.

Dr Mairead Corrigan

Queen’s University Belfast

Mairead Corrigan (she/her) (Ma-raid Corr-e-gan) is a medical sociologist in the Centre for Medical Education (CME) at Queen’s University, Belfast where she is the Academic Lead for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) and is Chair of her Centre’s ED&I Committee. She has been leading on embedding diversity in the curriculum. Many of her ED&I initiatives have been co-created with students. These include the development of open-access ED&I training for healthcare educators in collaboration with Ulster University Medical School and with Northern Ireland’s Postgraduate Deanery; Active Bystander Training for Queen’s; a workshop on challenging racism for medical students; and projects on neurodiversity. Mairead has been a member of DIMAH for many years. She has found DIMAH to be a valuable community of practice and source of support.

Christopher Sutton, PhD, SFHEA, PGCertHE

University of Manchester

Christopher Sutton (he/him) (KRISS-tuh-fer SUT-un) is a learning technologist at the University of Manchester and supports DIMAH with digital strategy and communications. A former educator and historian of empire, he is committed to improving equity, diversity and inclusion for students and staff, particularly in healthcare education. Chris has led several research projects on improving representation in visual teaching resources.
